– and I’m not a designer.
I’ve never considered myself a Creative with a capital C either, even though I’ve worked in creative industries (publishing & marketing). What I am is an amateur, in the truest, French-est sense of the word, which means lover. I write about design because I love it.
It really is that simple.
If you’re like me, you like to know where things come from, how they were made, and who made them
– extra emphasis on the who.
I like to know how creative people (capital C or otherwise) live and work. I like to understand their processes and their inspirations; what music they listen to; what books they read; what pages they rip out of magazines; and what they eat for breakfast. Does that make me nosy? I prefer the term curious.
I see Block Print Social as a collection – of my own musings, desires & inspirations, sure, but also of stories and conversations. Whenever possible, I’d like to introduce you to the people behind the design, and share their musings, desires & inspirations.
Design is social. Let’s get to know one another.
