I consider myself wildly lucky to live in a city like London – ancient & sprawling, vigorous & pulsing, teeming with creative people & inspiring design.
Oh yes, and shopping.
Lots of it.
My neighborhood, Islington, is brimming with design shops – their window displays an always-welcome distraction as I make my way to the dry cleaner or underground station or where have you. I plan to share all of my favorite local resources with you in time – I’m thinking a Block Print guide to Islington is in order? – But I stumbled across these photos of Folklore, styled & photographed by the European Design Bloggers Tour, and just had to share them with you.

I’m a self-diagnosed Minimalist/Maximalist Split Personality.
The maximalist in me loves mixing textiles & patterns, and gets revved up by vibrant, saturated hues. She shops at House of Hackney & Atelier Abigail Ahern, listens to Kendrick Lamar (don’t kill my vibe) and eats cupcakes for breakfast.
The minimalist in me loves negative space and black & white (forget the rest!) She listens to John Denver, reads Cereal magazine, and shops at – scratch that, lives in – Folklore.
Folklore, just down the road from my flat, offers goods that are beautiful in their simplicity. The shop – which always resembles a Kinfolk spread – is looking particularly handsome at the moment, thanks to the styling of Anna Gustafsson, Em Fexeus, Igor Josif, and Susanna Vento.
It’s time to indulge our inner minimalists.
